Prof. Yaghoub Mansourpanah received his PhD in Applied Chemistry (membrane-based separation processes) from Razi University (Iran) in 2009, and now he is a full professor and director of Membrane Research Laboratory at Lorestan University (LU). His current research is focused on membrane preparation, modification and application in diverse fields such as water and wastewater treatment, desalination, gas separation, biodiesel purification, fuel cell, as well as oil water separation. He worked at Michigan State University (USA) as a visiting professor focusing on purification of therapeutic proteins by membranes during 2015-2016. In 2018, 2023, and 2024 he has also joined University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) as a visiting scientist working on developing polymeric membranes. Dr. Zahed Ghelichkhah currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technology at Ohio University. His research interests focus on electrochemistry and corrosion science, with a particular emphasis on modeling electrochemical reactions using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. Gessica de O. Santiago Santos was born in Brazil, in 1991. She studied Environmental Engineering at Universidade Tiradentes – Brazil, where she graduated in 2014 (with a period at the University of Regina, Canada). After graduation, she joined the postgraduate program in Process Engineering of Universidade Tiradentes, as a Master’s student in 2015. Later, in 2016, she was invited to move to the doctoral in the same postgraduate program due to her outstanding course performance. She obtained her PhD in 2020 (direct doctorate with double degree) in Process Engineering and Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Tiradentes (Brazil) and University of Castilla La-Mancha (Spain). The doctoral thesis aimed at the synthesis, characterization and application of new materials, more specifically, mixed metal oxide anodes produced using alternative heating source of CO2 laser. Currently, she is a post-doctoral fellow at the São Carlos Institute of Chemistry at the University of São Paulo (IQSC/USP).
